FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are there any monthly platform fees?

No. There are no monthly subscription fees to use the platform. You pay only for SMS units consumed, and for the specific sender IDs, shortcodes, or USSD codes you register.

Do unused SMS units expire?

No. Units credited to your account never expire. Buy in bulk and use them at your own pace.

Are VAT charges included in the prices shown?

SMS unit prices are VAT-exempt. Sender ID registration fees, shortcode monthly fees, USSD extension fees, and keyword fees are subject to 16% VAT — all prices shown on this page are inclusive of VAT where applicable.

What networks does the platform cover?

All major Kenyan networks: Safaricom, Airtel, Telkom Kenya, and Equitel. A single API call reaches all networks simultaneously — no network-specific configuration required.

How do I get API access?

Create an account, complete onboarding, then generate an API token from your account settings. The API is fully documented and supports REST and SMPP.

Can I use the API from my existing application?

Yes. The REST API accepts JSON over HTTPS. An SMPP endpoint is also available for high-volume integrations using standard SMPP client libraries. See the API Docs page for examples.
